Poverty Pimps and Black Suffering

WATTREE'S ACTUAL FACTUALS * ERIC L. WATTREE

Poverty Pimps and Black Suffering
.
Many Black people have bought into a philosophy that was introduced into our thinking by poverty pimps. They’ve convinced many Black people that we are impotent and can't do anything for ourselves. I know many people who suffer from that malady.
.
Poverty Pimps introduced that into our thinking so we would feel that we needed to hire them to the very lucrative job of Black Ambassador to the ‘White Man’ (the White establishment). That's been big business every since Martin and Malcolm died.
.
As Black people, we need to shake that conditioning and begin to understand that we don’t need one voice speaking for millions, we need millions speaking with one voice; and we don’t need one brain thinking for millions, we need millions of brains thinking in concert. We also need to RE-LEARN that the only thing we need from the White man is for him to stay the hell out of our way.
.
Yes, we want our piece of America's pie, but whinin' ain't the way to get it. The only way that we're EVER going to obtain justice, dignity, and all of the other things that we are due in this world, is to become strong enough to demand it, and competent enough to hold on to it. The Black community will NEVER be fully viable, until we embrace that clear and simple reality.
.
So we need to stop talking about what we CAN'T do, and start thinking about what we CAN do - and we can do any damn thing we put our minds to.

The Great American Myth About Black People

Wattree's Actual Factuals

The Great American Myth About Black People
.
We’re being brainwashed into believing that most Black people are impoverished, dysfunctional, and a burden on society, but that’s not the case. Yes, there are some Black people who are just as they are portrayed in the media, but that’s not just Black people, that’s people of every race, creed, and ethnic disposition.
.
There are many people who are just not going to make it, regardless to what we do, so there’s ALWAYS going to be poor people among us - in both the Black and White communities. We’ll never be able to save everybody, because, the fact is, some people are just too ignorant to be saved. For example, how are you going to help a person get to a job in a bank or corporate setting who has tattoos all over his or her body? They’ve made themselves look unprofessional, so they’ve hurt themselves. Thus, their inability to be employed is nobody's fault but their own. So how are you going to hold either the system, or Obama, responsible for their plight?
.
But again, far too often we define Black people, as a whole, based on what we see in the media, but the majority of Black people aren’t doing nearly as bad as they’re portrayed by either poverty pimps, or the media. Poverty pimps have a vested interest in portraying Black people as universally destitute to justify their own existence, and the media portray Black people in that way for various reasons, including politics, ignorance, and to promote a corporate agenda.
.
But here are some facts that I’m willing to bet most people don’t know. The vast majority of Black people in this country are middle class or above. African Americans are the second largest consumer group in America with a combined buying power of over $1.1 trillion - equal to the gross national product of Germany, the third richest industrial nation in the world. In 2002 African American owned businesses accounted for 1.2 million of the US's 23 million businesses, and 47% of Africans Americans own their own homes. - U.S. Census Bureau.
.
Here’s another fact. In spite of all of the hurdles that Black people have to overcome - including having to compete against White people while wearing lead boots and spotting them 50 yards - there are only 1% more Black people on welfare than Whites. Welfare Statistics: Whites - 38.8%; Blacks - 39.8% (http://www.statisticbrain.com/welfare-statistics/).

So the Black people generally being portrayed in the media are the bottom 10% of the most dysfunctional Black people in America. If the media portrayed White people in the same way they portray Blacks, we would think that all White people were barefoot Hillbillies.  But many people, including Blacks, are buying into this nonsense that we’re being fed, and that’s damaging the image of Black people tremendously. Black people should be lauded for how well they’re doing, in spite of the America’s long tradition of Black oppression, instead of looked upon as a burden to society. It wouldn’t be possible for you to be reading this on your computer if it weren’t for Dr. Mark Dean, who was one of the principle inventors of the personal computer ( http://www.black-inventor.com/Dr-Mark-Dean.asp).

America's Middle Class Slide Since the Reagan Administration

Wattree's Actual Factuals

America's Middle Class Slide Since the Reagan Administration

The problem with the GOP is they've never seen a tax cut for the rich that they didn't want to enact, and they pay for it on the backs of the poor and middle class. That's why since the Reagan administration the simply rich have become filthy rich, and the poor and middle class have been constantly sliding downhill.  Today the top 5% of the population controls 72% of the wealth.  What happens when it becomes 82%, or 92%?  By definition, we'll then be slaves. The only difference between that and being actual slaves is that we'll have to provide our own housing.
.
The Middle Class Slide Since the Reagan Administration
.
"In 1982, Forbes magazine began its now much-read annual list of America’s richest men and women. At the time of the first list, there were 12 billionaires in the country and fewer than 200,000 millionaires. By the year 2000, there were nearly 300 billionaires and about 5 million millionaires. Smith’s account of the rise of the rich and super-rich tells the story of five types of individuals: entrepreneurs, dealmakers, investors, tycoons (corporate executives, who are distinguished from
entrepreneurs), and entertainers."

.
"No matter how you slice it, when it comes to income and wealth in America the rich get most of the pie and the rest get the leftovers. The numbers are shocking. Today the top 1 percent of Americans control 43 percent of the financial wealth (see the pie chart below) while the bottom 80 percent control only 7 percent of the wealth. Incredibly, the wealthiest 400 Americans have the same combined wealth as the poorest half of Americans — over 150 million people."
.
A recent Princeton study Shows that America is no longer a democracy. We are now an Oligarchy, controlled by the rich. So it is essential that we wake up. Racism is no longer the war; racism is now merely a TOOL of war. We are now knee-deep in a CLASS WAR, and the American people are losing badly - ALL of the American people.
.
Here’s the game that we're allowing the corporatists to run on us. They’ve convinced America that if we give the rich enough money, they’ll use that money to create jobs for the poor and middle class. Now, I don’t claim to be an intellectual giant, but it doesn’t take a great mind to understand that demand fuels supply, not the reverse.
.
If I made my living selling Gucci Bags, for example, I don’t care how much money you give me, I’m not going to hire anyone to produce any more Gucci Bags than I have in stock if I'm being forced to sell those bags in a homeless shelter. It wouldn’t make sense, because in a homeless shelter no one would have the money to purchase my product. The only way that you’re going to get me to hire people to produce Gucci Bags is if you gave that money to the people in the shelter so they’d have the money to buy my merchandise.
.
That's exactly what's happening in America today. Corporate profits are at record highs, and the information and charts above clearly show that corporations and corporate executives are currently making more money than they've ever dreamed of in the past. So there's no reason for high unemployment. The rich are not putting that money into creating jobs; that money is going into offshore accounts, and we never see it again. That's why the rich are getting so much richer, and the middle class so much poorer.
